It is always thought that Shakespeare's works are almost impossible to understand and that's why people sometimes have some prejudices before they meet with the book. While some people think that these plays can just be decoded by professionals, we always believed that we were doing our best. (So, please do not hope that we have a full interpretation of the play, or something like that kind of pure literature) Our aim was to show that Shakespeare's works are understandable, meaningful and timeless. That's why, a mission, was given to us! We had to analyse and understand one of the most known works of Shakespeare named "Macbeth". As one of the most known works of Shakespeare, Machbeth is the shortest tragedy written sometime between 1603 and 1607. Although it was written in the 17th century, we still read it, we still try to decode it. Actually things have not changed a lot since before. If we can say that this piece of art is timeless, then it will be also possible to say that Shakespeare has found our common points as human beings. To understand these things better, we searched the main meaning of the play knowing that we had to make a lot of research…
This work was given us by our English teacher, Ms. Schauer, who really supported us very much while we are trying to deal with this project. As a class, we all had to prepare presentations, so we divided the play into some parts. Groups of two people were dealing with different acts and scenes. Different projects and different aspects created this website, while we were trying to reach to the main point, which is mentioned above.
As you can see, the website is not complicated at all. First of all we have our home page, which includes these kind of general information and then we have the “plot” section, where you can find the main happenings of each acts, scenes. (Concerning that different groups made different parts of the play, some of the scenes or acts can be missing.) Then we have the “photos” section. Clicking on this link, you will reach the some of the photos that we have taken during the presentations. The “videos” part, I think, is the most interesting part. Before you leave the site, you should take a look at those videos. To be more “”interactive”” and to be able to create new ideas about the play, we created the “discussion” part. The “link library” will help you by reaching other information. Like, if you want to know more about the “historical background” of the play, then the links, which are also used as references in the presentations, will help you to reach them.
